Saved & Spoiled Comic FAQs

Everything you want to know about Wilson, Dewey, and the comic strip that started the fur flying.

The Comic
What is Saved & Spoiled?
Saved & Spoiled is a weekday comic strip about Wilson, a rescue dog, and Dewey, a pedigree cat, learning to share a home. It’s built around the daily friction, unexpected affection, and pure absurdity of life with pets – with classic comic timing and a lot of heart. New strips publish every Monday through Friday.
When did Saved & Spoiled start?
The strip launched in June 2025 and went to five days a week in November 2025. There are now over 200 strips in the archive, free to read anytime.
Is Saved & Spoiled free to read?
Yes, completely free. Every strip is available at savedspoiled.com and on WEBTOON Canvas. No subscription, no paywall.
How often does it update?
Five days a week, Monday through Friday. The best way to never miss a strip is to subscribe by email – new comics delivered free to your inbox.
The Characters
Who is Wilson?
Wilson is a rescue dog – enthusiastic, loyal, and completely unbothered by personal boundaries. He charges into every situation with total optimism and a deep belief that his involvement will help. It usually doesn’t. He’s purple, which feels right.
Who is Dewey?
Dewey is a pedigree cat who had the house running exactly as he liked it – until Wilson arrived. He is refined, observant, easily annoyed, and deeply committed to his own dignity. He has a softer side, but he’d very much prefer you didn’t mention it.
What kind of cat is Dewey?
Dewey is a pedigree cat of the highest self-appointed standing. His exact breed is left to the imagination – what matters is that he knows he’s better than this, and he wants everyone to know that he knows.
Do Wilson and Dewey get along?
That’s complicated. Wilson thinks they’re best friends. Dewey is still working through some things. The strip lives in that gap – and occasionally, when neither of them is looking, something real and warm passes between them.
Are Wilson and Dewey based on real pets?
Yes! Wilson is inspired by a real rescue Black Lab, and Dewey by a real purebred Persian cat. In real life the two never actually lived together – the comic imagines what would have happened if they had. Their personalities, though, are very much drawn from the real thing: one all heart and no boundaries, the other refined and unimpressed.
The Creator
Who makes Saved & Spoiled?
Saved & Spoiled is written and illustrated by John Yuskaitis, a cartoonist and illustrator based in Massachusetts. He’s also the creator of the earlier sci-fi comic Boots & Pup. The strip is inspired by the real rhythms of life with pets – specifically the contrast between rescue-dog energy and cat-level self-importance.
